About the series:

If Memory Was a Layer is a series of treescape portraits exploring growth, change, and the journey toward inner authenticity. Inspired by The Painted Cougar, a children's book by Elizabeth Margaret Hopkins, in which a cougar seeks external beauty only to discover he was always enough, each image reflects that same quiet realization that we hold the power to shed what no longer serves us and find the beauty within ourselves.
